Council Desk

Overview
Our client is a local government council responsible for revenue, ward projects, permits and complaints across its wards. The picture used to arrive as weekly reports that were already out of date.
We designed and built Council Desk: revenue, ward projects, permits and complaints on one live screen, so the Chairman starts the day knowing exactly where the council stands.
Collectors and ward officers update their own work from a phone, so the screen reflects the council as it is today, not as it was last week.
The problem
Revenue is collected by dozens of collectors across markets, motor parks and properties, and reconciled days later. Ward projects are tracked in notebooks. Permit files wait on desks nobody can see. Complaints reach the council through phone calls and visits and are easily lost.
How it works
Revenue, reconciled daily. Every payment is recorded against a collector, a market and a payer. Shortfalls and unbanked cash show up the same day, not at month end.
Ward projects with proof. Ward officers upload photos and short reports from a phone, so each project has evidence behind its status.
Permits that move. Building and business permits travel desk to desk, with every approval timed and recorded.
Complaints with an owner. Each complaint is assigned, tracked and closed, and the Chairman sees which are overdue.
A morning briefing. The Chairman opens one screen, or one phone, and sees what is on track, what is behind, and what is waiting on them.
